Filtering H5N1, H5N2 Avian Flu/Bird Flu and SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) virus from the hospital and work environment:.   At this writing, very little is known about H5N1 Avian Flu and SARS. From what has been published by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and by the World Health Organization, this virus is believed to be highly contagious, is apparently capable of living for several hours or days outside of the body on such items as door handles and is believed to be transmitted from one person to another by sneezing. Some say that the incubation period SARS is between 10 and 12 days and the incubation period for H5N1 Avian Flu is estimated to be 7 days. It is too early to say if the Bubble Bunker, particularly the negative pressure hospital bed version, is capable of isolating the infected patient from the rest of the patient population. Our HEPA filtration systems are capable of filtering out particles and bacteria as little as .5 microns in size, however some published reports have stated that the SARS virus is less than .1 microns long. Our system can filter approximately 98.5% of all particles of .1 micron - but not 100%. Nevertheless, it is believed that the virus is normally contained in droplets far exceeding the current .5 micron size of our filtration system, which may indeed be a fist step defense against this possible pandemic. The Bubble Bunker®. Measures 8' x 9' x 5.5' high and hold between two and three people. It comes with a 110 Volt inflator/filtration system which incorporates a HEPA filter.		HEPA FILTERS HEPA filters, which were originally developed by the Atomic Energy Commission in 1943, filter particles as small as .3 microns and are 97.97% efficient.
